How this Stay at Home Mom Makes an Extra $3,500+ Per Month with Microblading
In 6 months Jaime was able to start up her own microblading business, quit her aesthetician job and have more felxibility while making more money and working from home.
If you are an aesthetician looking to set yourself apart from the crowd and charge what you know you're worth then you just might find this case study interesting!
Learn how microblading might just be the service you need to take your practice to the next level and make more money while feeling good about making people look better.
Struggling to stand out as an Aesthetician
Jaime became an aesthetician because she loved the work and she wanted to help women look their best.
Standing out as an aesthetician can be difficult unless you are able to set yourself apart in some way.
Currently many aestheticians are looking to be on the cutting edge.
Because adding more services puts you ahead of the pack and allows you to charge what you are worth.
And among a sea of aestheticians it's difficult unless you are either VERY skilled or have been doing your services for a long time and have built up a following.
But what if you are just starting out?
You need something to set you apart.
Jaime was one of those people looking to expand her service menu and that's how she found me.
She was searching for something that she can add that would allow her to have more flexibility with her schedule, allow her to make a good income (enough to pay off her loans AND have some spending money left over), and leave her feeling satisfied.
Now in only 6 months she is making $75 an hour doing microblading, she is working from home and she is booked out for 1.5 months.
But how did she get there?
How Microblading can make you stand out
Have you ever seen something explode and thought to yourself, "If I would have started that 2 years ago when I first heard about it I would be killing it right now"?
Well, let me be the first to tell you that microblading is THAT thing, and it's happening right now.
Microblading is exploding, and it's a new and exciting treatment that allows you to literally transform someone's brows in under 4-5 hours.
Not only can you provide an amazing service to your clients but you can also make more money by doing microblading while working from home.
Sound too good to be true?
Microblading is a relatively new (well new to the USA) therapy in which the artist places a semi permanent eyebrow over existing eyebrows to enhance and add dimension to existing eyebrows.
The whole procedure takes about 4-4.5 hours and involves making tiny cuts into the skin of the eyebrow just deep enough to place the pigment but not deep enough to cause bleeding.
This process allows for pigment to be placed in the dermal epidermal junction of the skin and maintains the pigment and color for up to 15 months.
Why is NOW the time to get started?
These reasons come to mind:
- Microblading is exploding and is currently the new and trending therapy
- Microblading is not regulated right now, which means you can do it as long as you get a good training program and practice enough
- You can learn to microblade in just a few short weeks and if you use a proper training program you will be ready to start seeing clients within a few days
- You can build up your own clientele in a relatively short period of time because there is so much demand and so few microbladers
- You get instant satisfaction after your appointment and your clients will LOVE their brows
- It's easy to build a social media following right now because your before and after pictures speak for themselves
- The list goes on and on...
These reasons make it the PERFECT time to start microblading, especially if you want to set yourself apart and build your business quickly.
How much can you make?
Because microblading is so new and because you can work from home it cuts down the overhead costs associated with other therapies that aestheticians can offer.
As a result you can expect to make around $75 to $150 per hour doing microblading.
Clients typically pay anywhere from $250 to $800 for microblading depending on location and the skill of the artist doing their brows.
Believe it or not it's actually quite easy to build a clientele even while charging fairly for your time.
Jaime started out charging $250 for microblading and within 3 months increased her price to $350.
Even while charging $350 for each microblading sessions she is booked out for over 4 weeks.
The beauty about microblading is that you can add it to whatever services you already offer or you can simply become a microblader full time and do even better.
It's completely up to you.
Either way, adding microblading to your list of services is an easy way to grab extra clients and get ahead of other aestheticians.
Building a Microblading Business out of your home
One of the biggest benefits of microblading is the fact that you can do it out of your home.
Building a microblading business out of your home is great if you want to maintain flexibility, want more time with your kids, want to bring in an extra income to support your family or if you want to make some money for helping people feel better about themselves.
Building a business out of your home has never been easier with social media platforms like instagram.
Instagram allows you to "show your work" and by showing people what you are capable of you really don't have to convince them to come see you.
People will naturally come see you for this service because the demand is so high relative to how many microbladers are out there.
Starting your own business doesn't take a lot of investment either (compared to opening a salon or spa).
All you need is a few simple things:
- A proper bed (massage beds work great)
- Proper lighting (especially important to get perfect before and after photos!)
- Sanitation equipment (to keep your clients safe and happy)
- Microblading equipment (we take care of all of this if you use our training program)
The total investment of all of these things together is less than $500, which is incredible considering you can pay it all back within 1 month of microblading.
In our training program we talk about all of the best products to use and where to get them so you don't have to waste any time getting started.
Get the right training
Getting started with microblading is all about getting the right training.
If you jump into the first training program you see, or worse the cheapest program you see, you will NOT be left feeling confident after your course.
While you can learn to do microblading in a few days, you absolutely need to undergo a program that includes pre and post course training.
You NEED to feel confident after your training program to start seeing clients, or you will have wasted your money.
That means you need to find a program that includes all of the following:
- Hands on training and guidance from teachers who frequently do microblading
- Several day in person program that includes an in house model that you complete in front of your instructors
- Program with a starter kit that includes everything you need to get started with RIGHT AWAY
- One that teaches you basic marketing to help get your business of the ground
- One that includes post training practice, so you can continue to hone your skills
- A program that has advanced techniques like soft tap and shading (these techniques add dimension and complexity to your brows)
- One that is designed and taught by instructors who are good at what they do
Training is the most important and first step to take if you are serious about microblading.
When I went through training I left feeling like I wasn't quite ready to see clients.
This lead me to spending even more money (thousands) on other programs to get me the practice and skills that I needed.
Because of this I created a training program that is comprehensive and includes ALL areas of microblading including how to start your business and how to get your clients.
It's important to me that you feel prepared and ready to see your first client after you finish your training.
I ended up spending thousands on training programs, so let my mistake be your benefit!
